Terminalia macrostachya (Standl.) Alwan & Stace, Fl. Neotrop. Monogr. 107: 250. 2010; Bucida macrostachya Standl.; B. megaphylla Exell.

Arboles hasta 20 m de alto. Hojas elípticas a obovado-elípticas u oblongo-elípticas, (5–) 9–25 cm de largo y (4–) 6–13 cm de ancho, ápice redondeado a subagudo, base ampliamente cuneada, subglabras a escasamente pubescentes, con (6–) 10–16 (–20) pares de nervios laterales; pecíolo 1–4.5 cm de largo. Pedúnculos (1.5–) 2–6 cm de largo, raquis (1.7–) 7–16 cm de largo; flores 4–6 mm de largo incluyendo ovario y cáliz. Frutos densa y generalmente patente-tomentosos.

Rara en bosques secos, zona norcentral; 600–1000 m; fl may–ago, fr ago–ene; Rocha 4, Neill 2261; sur de México al norte de Nicaragua.
