Dalbergia ruddiae J. Linares & M. Sousa, Ceiba 48: 67. 2007 (2008).

Arboles, 5--25 m de alto. Folíolos 11--21, elípticos, narrow lanceolados or oblong, or terminal oblanceolate, 2.5–4 (--7.5) cm de largo y 1.3--2 (--2.9) cm de ancho, ápice agudo o acuminado, base cuneate, obtuse, or attenuate, sericeous, with small appressed hairs or haz glabrescent; estípulas not seen. Panículas cimosas axilares, más cortas que las hojas, pedicelos 0.2--1 mm de largo, flores 4.3–5 mm de largo; cáliz 2.2--3 mm de largo, piloso, lobos subiguales, el carinal más largo que el resto y atenuado; pétalos blancos o amarillenta ; estambres 9, monadelfos. Frutos oblongos 4.7--5.9 cm de largo y 1.4--1.9 cm de ancho, glabros; semilla not seen.

Known in Nicaragua from one collection (Guadamuz 2581), wet evergreen forest, Municipio El Castillo; 60 m; fl mar; Mexico, Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
