Notes:
This species belongs to Subg. Hillia. It is similar to Hillia parasitica, but differs from that in its markedly smaller flowers, leaves, and capsules. It seems to be found growing mainly on ridges and in other exposed areas, and may be an ecological form but the flower sizes of the two groups of plants are distinct, not continuous.
