Notes:
This species can be recognized by its rather robust habit; its oblanceolate to obovate, firm-textured, rather shiny leaves; its small intrapetiolar stipules; its showy terminal inflorescences; its pink corollas with 5-6 lobes and the tube 32-50 mm long; and its drupaceous fruits. Isertia rosea is common species of evergreen forests, seasonal forests, and riparian forests, often on white-sand substrates, often in poorly drained soils. This species is occasionally confused with Palicourea; however Palicourea can be separated by its interpetiolar stipules and drupaceous fruits with 1 seed in each pyrene.
