Notes:
This species can be recognized by its large obovate leaves that are silvery-canescent below and its robust inflorescences with relativelly large red to yellow corollas, which have unusual warty protuberances or tubercles on the outside of the upper part of the tube. This species is similar in general appearance to Isertia hypoleuca; however I. verrucosa has berry fruits with 2-3 locules, vs. drupaceous fruits with 5-6 locules in I. hypoleuca.
