Notas:

This species can be recognized by its robust habit, leaves with sparser transparent or gray pubescence on the lower surface, and large inflorescences with rather large white flowers that are densely bearded in the throat. The flowers are apparently nocturnal and presumably pollinated by moths. This species is frequently encountered in secondary vegetation, and apparently flowers during much of the year.

Distribución: Northwestern Colombia through Ecuador, at 0-1500 m.
