Rev. Bryol. Lichénol. 43: 312. 1977.
Juratzkaeella Buck is a monotypic genus segregated from Juratzkaea Lor. (Buck 1977). The former can be separated from the latter on the basis of the following characters: leaves serrulate, annuli present, peristome attached at the mouth; exostome teeth distinctly cross-striolate below, and opercula conic-rostrate in Juratzkaeella; whereas leaves entire, annuli absent, peristome inserted somewhat below the mouth, exostome teeth papillose, indistinctly cross-striolate below, and opercula short-conic in Juratzkaea. The generic description is the same as that of J. sinensis (Fleisch. ex Broth.) Buck.
