Plants slender, yellowish green or brownish green. Stems curved, creeping or ascending, to ca. 15 cm long, irregularly branched or somewhat pinnately branched; paraphyllia absent; pseudoparaphyllia foliose; central strand weakly differentiated. Stem leaves lax, imbricate, broadly ovate to ovate-lanceolate, abruptly narrowed into a long acuminate apex, 0.9–1.3 mm × 0.4–0.6 mm; margins plane, serrulate above; costae single, nearly percurrent; median leaf cells elongate-rhomboidal, 35–50 mm × 7–8 mm, smooth or slightly prorate; alar cells distinctly differentiated, hyaline or yellowish brown, rectangular or ovate, thin-walled, inflated, extending close to costa at leaf base; branch leaves similar to stem leaves, 0.5–0.8 mm × 0.2–0.3 mm. Dioicous. Sporophytes not seen.
