26. Brachythecium planiusculum Müll. Hal.   扁枝青藓   bian zhi qing xian
Nuovo Giorn. Bot. Ital., n.s., 4: 268. 1897. Type: China. Shaanxi, Giraldi s.n.
 
Plants medium-sized, green to yellowish green, in dense mats. Stems prostrate, 2–4 cm long, irregularly pinnately branched, with branches 0.3–0.7 cm long. Stem leaves ovate-lanceolate, 1.35–1.94 mm × 0.42–0.59 mm, plicate, often secund; margins entire; costae ca. 2/3 the leaf length; median leaf cells linear-rhomboidal, 35–60 µm × 7–8 µm; alar cells differentiated, quadrate; branch leaves narrowly lanceolate, 0.90–1.13 mm × 0.24–0.29 mm; margins entire below, serrulate above; costae slender, ending ca. mid-leaf. Dioicous. Setae ca. 20 mm long, reddish brown, smooth; capsules curved, inclined; opercula shortly conic-rostrate; peristome not seen. Spores not seen.
