Plants rather large, green to yellowish green, in loose mats. Stems prostrate, to 5–8 cm long, densely irregularly branched, loosely foliate, with branchlets, often attenuate at tips. Stem leaves broadly ovate, 1.85–2.16 mm × 0.95–1.67 mm, concave, plicate, shortly acuminate, often twisted at apex, somewhat cordate, decurrent at base; margins nearly entire or serrulate near apex; costae slender, ca. 2/3 the leaf length; median leaf cells linear-rhomboidal, 43–60 µm × 9–10 µm, with angled ends, thin-walled; basal cells lax, somewhat thick-walled, rhombic; alar cells quadrate or shortly rectangular; branch leaves ovate-lanceolate, 1.26–1.58 mm × 0.54–0.72 mm, gradually acuminate. Dioicous. Setae ca. 15–20 mm long, papillose throughout; capsules ovoid or obovoid, inclined, brownish; opercula shortly conic-rostrate; endostome segments as long as exostome teeth; cilia 2–4, nodulose. Spores not seen.
