Plants yellowish green or dark green, somewhat glossy. Stems prostrate, densely pinnately branched; branches more or less flattened. Stem leaves broadly ovate at base, abruptly narrowed to a long, slender apex, 1.3–1.8 mm × 0.30–0.35 mm; margins serrulate above, with a row of elongate cells at margins; costae double, very short, weak; median leaf cells rounded hexagonal to elongate-hexagonal, 50–80 µm × 15–20 µm, thin-walled, lax; basal cells similar to the median cells, somewhat rectangular; branch leaves and stem leaves similar. Autoicous. Inner perichaetial leaves broadly lanceolate, slenderly acuminate, ca. 3 mm long. Setae ca. 1.5 mm long, 0.12 mm thick, yellowish brown; opercula shortly rostrate; peristome teeth similar to V. ferriei, but shorter, ca. 0.35 mm. Spores 8–10 µm in diameter.
