Plants slender, slightly yellowish brown, glossy, densely tufted. Stems prostrate, densely branched; branches erect or erecto-patent, up to 1 cm long, densely covered with leaves; rhizoids brownish, throughout stems. Leaves imbricate when dry, spreading when moist, concave, narrowly ovate, gradually narrowed to a slender apex, up to 1.3 mm long; leaf margins revolute, serrate above; costa slender, ending in the middle of leaf; leaf cells narrowly rhomboidal; basal cells short; alar cells quadrate. Autoicous. Inner perichaetial leaves erect, lanceolate, with an acuminate apex, serrate above. Setae slender, up to 1 cm long, reddish brown; capsules erect, cylindrical, yellowish brown; opercula conic; peristome double; exostome teeth lanceolate, yellowish brown, papillose above, striolate below; endostome segment linear, light color; basal membrane high; cilia none. Spores 12–15 µm in diameter, smooth.
