Plants medium-sized, slender, yellowish green, slightly glossy, in dense tufts. Stems prostrate, up to 1.2 cm long, irregularly branched; branches short, julaceous; branches ca. 1.0 cm long, densely covered with leaves; rhizoids in bundle. Leaves closely imbricate when dry, erect-spreading when moist, oblong-ovate or narrowly ovate, ca. 1 mm long, often concave, bi-plicate; leaf margins incurved or plane, sometimes revolute, serrulate near apex; costa single, ending in the middle of leaf; leaf cells narrowly rhomboidal or narrowly elliptic; alar cells quadrate or laxly arranged, thin-walled. Dioicous. Setae erect, reddish brown, up to 1.0–1.5 cm long; capsules erect, ovoid, apophysis short; opercula shortly obliquely beaked; peristome double; exostome teeth narrowly lanceolate; endostome segments linear, as long as teeth, keeled; cilia absent. Spores 12–16 µm in diameter.
