Plants medium-sized, pale yellowish green or pale brownish green, slightly glossy. Stems prostrate, ca. 5 cm long, irregularly or regularly pinnately branched; stem elliptic in cross section; leafy stems terete or nearly terete; branches nearly terete, unequal in length, ca. 1.5 cm; pseudoparaphyllia triangular, 4–13 cells wide. Stem leaves erect-spreading, slightly secund, somewhat differentiated; dorsal leaves erect or slightly falcate-secund, ovate-lanceolate, 1.4–1.8 mm × 0.5–0.8 mm, abruptly narrowed to a blunt, short acumen, cordate at base, slightly decurrent; margins serrulate above, entire and recurved below; costae double, reaching up to 1/3 the leaf length, separate at base; median leaf cells narrowly rhomboidal, 40–60 µm × 3–4 µm, rarely prorate; alar cells differentiated, in 3–5 longitudinal rows, 4–5 transverse rows; ventral leaves plane at apex; branch leaves smaller, 1.0–1.5 mm × 0.4–0.6 mm. Inner perichaetial leaves reflexed at apex, ecostate. Setae 3–4 cm long; capsules inclined to horizontal, ovoid, 2.2–2.3 mm × 0.9–1.1 mm; cilia 1–2. Spores 18–26 µm in diameter.
