Plants in weft, robust, glossy. Main stems prostrate, 1–2-pinnately branched; branches numerous, terminals of branches often curved; central strands absent. Leaves appressed when dry, erect-spreading when moist; stem leaves large, loose, ovate, entire, abruptly constricted into a twisted filiform tip, ca. 1.4 mm ´ 0.9 mm; leaf cells linear, ca. 76 µm ´ 6 mm; costae double, very short; alar cells in one row evidently inflated, golden yellowish cells at base; branch leaves densely imbricately arranged, smaller, acuminate; margins serrulate below the middle, entire at apex. Dioicous. Sporophytes on main stem. Setae slender, elongate, purple, ca. 3 cm long; capsules cylindrical, inclined, ca. 2.8 mm ´ 0.9 mm; opercula a long rostrate; peristome double; cilia 1–2.
