Plants medium-sized, grayish green, glossy, in low mats. Main stems creeping, terminal branches gradually becoming slender; rhizoids reddish. Leaves erect, ovate-lanceolate, concave, narrowly acuminate, becoming cuspidate, or variable in length, ca. 1.60 × 0.67 mm; leaf margins almost entire; costae short, forked; leaf cells linear, apical and median cells ca. 80 µm × 7–8 mm; basal cells irregularly rectangular, loosely arranged, ca. 48 × 12 mm. Monoicous. Sporophytes on the base of branches. Inner perichaetial leaves similar to vegetative leaves in shape, but straight. Setae erect, ca. 2 cm long; capsules erect or curved, ovoid to cylindrical, ca. 2.4 mm ´ 0.8 mm; opercula small, conical; annuli persistent; peristome single, exostome teeth ca. 200 mm high, papillose, with a median line. Spores ca. 25 mm in diameter, papillose.
