Plants medium-sized, pale yellowish green or pale brownish green, slightly glossy. Stems prostrate, ca. 6 cm long, irregularly or pinnately branched; stem elliptic in cross section; stems and branches terete; branches ca. 1 cm long, unequal in length; pseudoparaphyllia lanceolate, 2–6 cells wide at base. Stems leaves slightly falcate-secund, differentiated; dorsal leaves slightly falcate-secund, concave, elliptic-lanceolate, 1.8–2.0 mm × 0.7–0.9 mm, slenderly acuminate, nearly cordate at base, slightly decurrent, somewhat plicate; margins plane, not recurved, serrulate above the midleaf, entire below; costae double, weak, 1/6–1/4 the leaf length, usually separate at base; median leaf cells narrowly rhomboidal, 50–70 µm × 3–4 µm, thin-walled, smooth; alar cells distinctly differentiated, in 8–10 longitudinal and transverse rows; ventral leaves plane at apex; branch leaves small, 1.3–1.5 mm × 0.35–0.50 mm. Dioicous. Sporophytes not seen.
