Plants small, yellowish green or dark green, glossy, in complanate, dense mats. Stems prostrate, irregularly pinnately branched, flattened. Leaves complanate, erect-spreading when moist, imbricate when dry, ligulate, 1.4–1.8 mm × 0.50–0.75 mm, broadly apiculate at apex; lateral leaves asymmetric, inflexed on one side, gradually narrowed downward, slightly decurrent at base; margins nearly entire; costae single, extending to 1/2 the leaf length; median leaf cells linear, 75–85 µm × 7–8 µm; apical cells shorter; alar cells differentiated, shortly rectangular. Autoicous. Setae slender, 9–10 mm long, straight or slightly curved, reddish, smooth; capsules erect or slightly inclined, elongate-ovoid to cylindrical, ca. 1.25 mm × 0.3–0.4 mm; peristome double; cilia unknown. Spores not seen.
