Datos del Proyecto     (Last Modified On 2/27/2015)
Notas: This species is characterized by its rather robust hirtellous (Central America) to glabrescent (South America) habit, leaves with numerous secondary veins, fleshy stipules with a flattened fleshy appendage, pedunculate pseudoaxillary lax paniculiform inflorescences with rather small floral bracts and the flowers distributed singly or in small groups along the axes, white fruits, and flattened pyrenes with a dorsal ridge. This species has been included within the broad circumsription of Psychotria macrophylla of some authors. Notopleura capacifolia is similar to Notopleura nepokroeffiae, which has flowers borne in heads at the end of the axes.
Distribución: Wet forests at 200-1500 m, southern Nicaragua through Colombia to central Peru.
