Printing Note: Bartramiaceae divided into three subfamilies: Bartramioideae (Bartramia, Catoscopium, Leiomela, Plagiopus, and Flowersia gen. nov.), Breutelioideae subfam. nov. (Breutelia, Philonotis, Anacolia, Fleischerobryum, and Quathlamba), Conostomoideae (Conostomum). The sections of Breutelia are typified. Bartramidula is synonymized with Philonotis; the appropriate combinations are made. Philonotis sharpiana sp. nov. described from Mexico. Key to the subfamilies and genera of the Bartramiaceae given.
