Locality Rapid City, Black Hills, SD Quadrangle. Plants collected from limestone cliffs along US Highway 44 W of Rapid city. Drive W on Highway 44, 7.8 miles from the intersection of Main Street (I-90 Business Loop) and U.S. Highway 44. Find trailhead parking on S side of highway. Other plants in the area include Pellaea glabella (Smith 21), Woodsia oregana and scopulina, Cystopteris fragilis, Cheilanthes feei, viola adunca and pedatifida, Ponderosa pine, choke cherry, mosses, herbs, Oregon grape, and shooting stars.
