Description Tree to 10 m with DBH of 15 cm; bark brown, exfoliating; fruits green. Common. NV: "Gumbo Limbo" (English), "Cha ca" (Maya). Med. Uses: Bath for aches, fevers, colds, headaches. Bath for burns, poison wood irritation, measles. Tea for stomach pain, general malaise; antipyretic. Diuretic; kedney infections. Sitz bath after childbirth.
Locality Ca. 10 km. S of San Ignacio; Ix Chel Farm.
