Description Tree to 5 m with DBH of 10 cm; fruits green. Common in secondary forest. NV: "Gumbo Limbo" (English), "Indio Peludo" (Spanish), "Cha cah" (Maya). Med Uses: Bath for aches, fevers, colds, headaches. Bath for burns, poison wood irritation, measles. Tea for stomach pain, general malaise; antipyretic. Diuretic; kidney infections. Sitz bath after childbirth. This is a voucher specimen for anti-Cancer and anti-Aids screening.
Locality Ca. 10 km. SE of San Ignacio; Ix Chel Farm.
