Description Herb 40 cm tall, fruits green turning whitish. Habitat: In primary forest cut and burned for cultivation.
Locality Portuguese: "pimenta de macaco" Guajajara: ": Cai-tai. This sis said to be a wild species of pepper used as a spicy condiment. Posto Indigena Pindaré (Funai Post Guajajara Indians), Mun. de Bom Jardim along Rio Pindare, ca 15 km W of Santa Ines.
