Árboles hasta 35 m. Hojas 2.5-13 × 1.5-5 cm, obovadas a angostamente obovadas, más o menos glabras al madurar, la base angostamente aguda, decurrente, el ápice obtuso a redondeado; pecíolo 1.3-3.5 cm. Inflorescencias en espigas alargadas; pedúnculo 1-2.5 cm; raquis 4-9.5 cm. Flores 4-5 mm, la parte inferior del hipanto (con el ovario) pubérula, el resto glabro externamente. Frutos 2-3 × 1.3-1.9 cm, subagudos a redondeados en el ápice, glabros. Selvas altas perennifolias. CR ( Aguilar 502, MO). 0-400 m. (Endémica.)
