2. Aulonemia patriae R. Pohl, Ann. Missouri Bot. Gard. 68: 225 (1981). Lectotipo (designado por Pohl, 1981): Costa Rica, Pohl y Gabel 13577 (ISC!).

Tallos 5 m x 8-15 mm, víscidos, glabros. Hojas de las ramas glabras; vainas sin aurículas, truncadas; lígula externa 0.2-0.4 mm, glabra; setas orales 15-30 mm; seudopecíolos 5-8 mm; lígula interna 1.2-2 mm, ciliolada; láminas 20-26 x 4-9.5 cm, ovadas. Panículas c. 40 cm. Espiguillas 2.5-4 cm, con c. 5 flósculos; glumas agudas, la inferior 5-7 mm, 7-nervia, la superior 7 mm, 11-nervia; lemas 13-17 mm, 9-11-nervias, sin aristas; páleas 13-17 mm. Márgenes de bosques de neblina. CR (Pohl 12798, ISC); P (Davidse et al. 25208, MO). 2000-2500 m. (Endémica.)
