Panicum amarulum A. Hitchc. et Chase, Contr. U.S. Natl. Herb. 15: 96 (1910). Holotipo: Estados Unidos, Williams 3090 (US).

Cespitosas o a veces rizomatosas. Panículas multifloras; ramas primarias 6-19 cm, ascendentes, generalmente 2 o más por nudo. Espiguillas (3.5-)4-5.9 mm; gluma inferior 3-5-nervia; flósculo superior 2.8-3 x 1-1.3 mm. T (Sauer y Gade 3129, WIS); Y (Sousa y Cabrera 11219, MEXU); B (Gentle 3603, MO); H (Nelson 8476, TEFH). 0-5 m. (E. Estados Unidos a Honduras, Antillas.)
