Hillia panamensis Standl., N. Amer. Fl. 32: 117. 1921; H. chiapensis Standl.

Hasta 4 m de alto. Hojas elípticas, 6–15 mm de largo y 3–10 mm de ancho, ápice obtuso a redondeado, base cuneada a aguda, subcoriáceas a coriáceas; pecíolos 1–2 mm de largo; estípulas 4–5 mm de largo y 1–1.5 mm de ancho. Flores nocturnas, fragantes, solitarias, pedúnculo ca 1 mm de largo; limbo calicino ausente o en 4 lobos ligulados, 6–7 mm de largo y 1–3 mm de ancho; corola hipocrateriforme, blanca, tubo 24–35 mm de largo, lobos 4, lanceolados, 8–10 mm de largo y 3–5 mm de ancho, agudos. Cápsulas 20–40 mm de largo y 3 mm de ancho, lisas; semillas 1–2 mm de largo, con tricomas 6–13 mm de largo.

Ocasional en bosques húmedos y generalmente premontanos, Volcanes Maderas y Concepción, Isla de Ometepe; 800–1200 m; fr nov–feb; Moreno 18806, 19852; México (Chiapas) al oeste de Panamá.
