7. Neodolichomitra Nog.   新船叶藓属   xin chuan ye xian shu

Plants medium-sized to rather robust, stiff, somewhat slender to thick, green, yellowish to brownish green, glossy, in loose wefts. Main stems prostrate; secondary stems erect or erect-spreading, brownish red, usually irregularly 2–3-pinnately branched; paraphyllia absent; pseudoparaphyllia few, foliose; central strand present, epidermal layers with 4–5 rows of small and thick-walled cells; branches erect-spreading, often attenuate at apex. Stem leaves and branch leaves differentiated; stem leaves usually larger, nearly round, broadly cordate or ovate-lanceolate, often concave, obtuse, short- to long-acuminate at apex, sometimes slightly incurved, deeply colored at base; margins entire to serrate; costae single, double or forked, reaching ca. 1/2 the leaf length, or sometimes short and faint; laminal cells elongate-vermiform to linear, sometimes prorate, basal cells gradually shorter, walls slightly incrassate, often pitted, usually reddish brown; alar cells slightly differentiated; branch leaves smaller, mostly broadly ovate-lanceolate to cordate-lanceolate, obtuse, short or slightly long-acuminate; margins entire, serrulate to serrate; costae variable in length. Dioicous. Inner perichaetial leaves not plicate, sheathing at base, long slender at apex; costae absent. Setae slender, elongate; capsules 1.7–2.4 mm × 1.1–1.3 mm, curved at back, broad at the mouth; annuli differentiated; opercula conic, shortly rostrate; exothecial cells variable in size and shape, thick-walled; peristome double; exostome teeth narrowly lanceolate, trabeculate, a light colored border slightly differentiated, outer surface densely cross-striate, often finely papillose at tips; endostome segments yellowish brown; basal membrane 1/2 the length of segments, often narrowly perforated along median line; cilia 1–3, finely papillose. Calyptrae cucullate, smooth. Spores spherical, finely papillose, 10–19 µm in diameter.
