16. Sasaokaea Broth.   类牛角藓属   lei niu jiao xian shu
Rev. Bryol., n.s., 2: 10. 1929.
The genus Sasaokaea, including two species, was placed in the Neckeraceae by Brotherus (1929), and it was treated as a synonym of Drepanocladus by Noguchi (1939). Koponen and Lai (1978) considered Sasaokaea to be closer to Cratoneuron and Cratoneuropsis than Drepanocladus based on the presence of paraphyllia. Sporophytes of Sasaokaea have not yet been found. Its systematic position needs further study.
The generic description is the same as that of the species.
