17. Sciaromiopsis Broth. 厚边藓属 hou bian xian shu

Three species have since been placed in the genus Sciaromiopsis since its inception (Brotherus 1924; Sakurai 1951). Ochyra (1986) synonymized S. brevifolia Broth. with S. sinensis, and S. nipponensis Sakurai with Brachythecium populeum var. populeum (Hedw.) Schimp. Sciaromiopsis is now a monotypic genus endemic to China. The description of the genus is the same as that of species.
