Plants small, medium-sized to rather robust, yellowish green, glossy, in dense mats. Stems prostrate, densely irregularly branched; branches ca. 3.0 cm long, ascending or curved, simple or branched, attenuate at tips. Stem and branch leaves similar, ovate-lanceolate or oblong-triangular, 1.9–2.3 mm × 0.7–0.9 mm, gradually acuminate, erect-spreading when dry, mostly plicate; margins plane, coarsely serrate above, serrulate below, nearly entire close to insertion; costae slender, nearly percurrent; median leaf cells linear, 48–65 µm × 5–6 µm; alar cells small, rounded-quadrate, thick-walled, extending close to costa at leaf base. Dioicous. Perichaetial leaves lanceolate. Setae 12–16 mm long, reddish brown, smooth; capsules erect, elongate-ellipsoidal; opercula obliquely long conic-rostrate; exostome teeth yellowish or brownish, cross-striolate below, papillose above; endostome segments as long as or shorter than teeth or sometimes very reduced; basal membrane high, ca. 1/3 the height of teeth; cilia developed or rudimentary. Calyptrae cucullate, smooth. Spores ca. 15 µm in diameter, finely papillose.
