Plants small, in low mats. Stems densely branched. Leaves ovate-lanceolate, 1.00–1.25 mm long, concave, acute or shortly acuminate; leaf cells linear, 40–65 mm long, thick-walled, pitted. Dioicous. Inner perichaetial leaves broadly ovate, abruptly constricted into a long acuminate apex. Setae 15 mm long, papillose; capsules small, ovoid, ca. 1 mm long.
