Plants small, flaccid, tuft-forming, yellowish green. Stems up to l.5 cm long. Leaves crowded, shrunken when dry, not complanate, erect-spreading when wet, oblong-lanceolate, gradually acuminate, 3–5 mm × 0.5–1.0 mm; leaf margins entire, without differentiated border, involute at lower half; costae double, extending beyond midleaf; laminal cells elongate or rhomboidal, 80–125 µm × 15–21 µm, becoming oblong-hexagonal apically and rectangular basally. Setae smooth, 4–6 mm long; capsules ovoid-cylindrical, 1.0–1.5 mm long; exothecial cells non-collenchymatous; exostome teeth papillose. Calyptrae mitrate, laciniate at base, covering only the apex of capsule.
