Plants slender, usually yellowish green, in small patches. Stems prostrate, ca. 3 cm long, regularly pinnately branched; central strand present; branches about 3–7 mm long; paraphyllia abundant, filamentous, slightly branched. Stem leaves remote, appressed when dry, erect-patent when moist, abruptly narrowed from a triangularly ovate base to a lanceolate apex, ca. 0.6 mm long; leaf margins serrate; costa reaching leaf apex, hyaline, papillose on back; median leaf cells oblong-hexagonal, ca. 15 µm × 8 µm, thin-walled, unipapillose; branch leaves ovate to ovate-triangular, ca. 0.3 mm × 0.2 mm; costa vanishing at upper portion of leaf; leaf cells quadrate to hexagonal, unipapillose. Autoicous. Perichaetial leaves oblong or rounded ovate, suddenly narrowed to a piliform acumen. Setae slender, ca. 1.5 cm long, densely papillose; capsules symmetrical or asymmetrical, horizontal or pendulous, dark reddish brown; opercula conical, long beaked; exostome teeth yellowish brown, hyaline and minutely papillose above; endostome segments lightly yellow, as long as exostome teeth; basal membrane about 1/2 the length of endostome segments; cilia hyaline, usually 2. Spores ca. 15 µm in diameter, papillose.
