Plants small to medium-sized, slender, in loose tufts. Stems erect, ca. 1.0–1.5(–3.0) cm high, simple or multi-branched at apex, branches often secund when dry. Leaves oblong- to ovate-lanceolate, 1.0–2.0 mm × 0.6 mm, broader at base, gradually acute at apex; margins not clearly bordered, unistratose, single-toothed at the upper margins; costae percurrent, dentate at back; leaf cells small, rounded-hexagonal, ca. 8–13 µm wide, thin-walled, papillose or mammillose on both sides; marginal cells rounded-hexagonal to shortly rectangular, smooth, hyaline, forming an indistinct border; lower stem leaves smaller, sparse, dimorphic, triangular-ovate, entire at margins. Dioicous. Sporophytic features the same as those of the genus.
