Plants rather large. Stems prostrate, sparsely or densely branched; branches simple or sparsely branched with branchlets. Stem and branch leaves similar, ovate-lanceolate or cordate-lanceolate, 1.35–1.94 mm × 0.56–0.86 mm, plicate, often twisted at apex, usually strongly decurrent at base; margins entire or sparsely serrulate near leaf apex; costae slender, ending just ca. mid-leaf to 2/3 the leaf length; median leaf cells linear, 45–80 µm × 7–9 µm, thin-walled; alar cells inflated, shortly rectangular or hexagonal, thin-walled. Autoicous or dioicous. Perichaetial leaves lanceolate, reflexed, ecostate. Setae 10–20 mm long, thick, roughened throughout; capsules inclined, ovoid to ellipsoidal; opercula shortly conic-rostrate; exostome teeth and endostome segments equal in length; cilia 2. Spores not seen.
