Notes     (Last Modified On 5/5/2009)
general taxon notes:
Brachythecium buchananii is similar to B. brotheri in overall habit, but it differs by its distinctly plicate, oblong-ovate leaves with strongly constricted leaf bases. In B. brotheri, the leaves are often plane, rarely plicate, and broadly ovate, without strongly constricted leaf bases.
