Plants slender, elongate, dark green, in loose or dense, flat mats. Stems prostrate, to 3.5–4.5 cm long, often with clustered rhizoids, regularly branched; branches, ca. 0.3–0.5 cm long, usually simple. Stem leaves appressed when dry, spreading when moist, triangularly ovate-lanceolate, 0.76–1.24 mm × 0.41–0.57 mm, rather abruptly narrowed to a long acuminate, often reflexed, or twisted apex, more or less decurrent at base; margins entire; costae slender, ending in the leaf apex or nearly percurrent; median leaf cells linear-rhomboidal to linear, 60–72 µm × 7–8 µm; alar cells differentiated, rectangular, elliptical, slightly inflated, not extending close to costa at leaf base; branch leaves narrowly ovate-lanceolate, 0.99–1.35 mm × 0.27–0.41 mm; margins serrulate above. Autoicous. Setae 7–15 mm long, roughened throughout; capsules strongly inclined to horizontal, ellipsoidal, dark brown; opercula conic; peristome not seen. Spores not seen.
