Syn. Musc. Frond. 1: 292. 1848. Pohlia clavata Schimp., Ann. Sci. Nat., Bot., ser. 2, 6: 148. 1836. Type: Chile. Quillotac, Bertero 3642.
Plants small, in tufts. Stems erect, branched. Leaves erect-spreading, ovate-lanceolate, slightly concave; margins entire, lower margins bordered by narrowed cells; costae percurrent. Dioicous. Setae slightly curved, 10–25 mm long; capsules horizontal to pendulous, club-shaped; opercula conic, rostrate; peristome perfect, double.
