5a. Pohlia crudoides var. crudoides   小丝瓜藓原变种   xiao si gua xian yuan bian zhong
Plants medium-sized, 20–30 mm high, stiff, yellowish green or yellowish brown, glossy, in dense tufts. Stems erect, simple. Leaves appressed when dry, erect-spreading when moist; lower leaves few, smaller; upper leaves dense, oblong-lanceolate, 2.0–2.8 mm × 0.4 mm; margins indistinctly recurved, serrulate above the middle, not bordered; costae strong, ending close to the apex or nearly percurrent; median leaf cells linear, vermicular, 75–155 µm × 7.0–9.5 µm, apical cells shorter; basal cells large, quadrate to short-rectangular. Gemmae absent. Dioicous. Sporophytes not seen.
