Plants small to medium-sized, ca. 20 mm high, yellowish green, in dense tufts. Stems erect, simple or rarely branched. Leaves curly when dry, spreading when moist, narrowly oblong-lanceolate, gradually acuminate at apex, narrower below, 1.5–2.0 mm × ca. 0.4 mm; margins plane, rounded denticulate above; costae ending below the apex; median leaf cells linear, 80–120 µm × 6–9 µm, thin-walled; upper and basal cells shorter. Gemmae filiform or vermicular, often in leaf axils of newly innovated branches, with 1–2 leaf primordia at apex. Dioicous. Setae ca. 30 mm long; capsules pendulous, oblong-pyriform. Spores 15–20 µm in diameter.
