Chinese specimens examined: We have not seen any specimens of this species. It was reported from Mt. Fan-jing, Guizhou province by B.-G. Zhong and Y.-X. Xiong (1990) and from Taiwan by M.-J. Lai (1976).

Bryol. Jav. 2: 12. 141. 1861. Type. Indonesia: Java, Pangerango, Motley s.n.
Primary stems prostrate, rhizoids tomentose; secondary stems erect, nudicaulous near the base, irregularly pinnately branched. Lateral leaves ovate-rounded, asymmetric, with abruptly shortly acute apices; leaf margins bordered by 2 rows of narrowly elongate cells, serrate at the upper part; costa reaching 2/3 the leaf length; amphigastria nearly rounded, symmetric; leaf margins bordered by 1 row of cells, nearly entire; costa long excurrent.
