Plants small, dark green, not glossy. Stems prostrate, somewhat elongate, densely pinnately branched, branches spreading, ca. 5 mm long; in stem cross section epidermal cells of stems small; central strand not developed; pseudoparaphyllia slenderly lanceolate, ca. 2–4 cells wide. Stem leaves and branch leaves similar, dense, curled when dry, lanceolate, 1.2 mm × 0.25 mm, gradually acuminate, usually falcate-secund; margins serrulate; double or forked, indistinct; median leaf cells 70–85 µm × 3–4 µm, often prorate; basal cells somewhat thick-walled; alar cells lax, hyaline, oblong-oval, larger than median cells, thin-walled. Dioicous. Inner perichaetial leaves slenderly lanceolate, ca. 1.8 mm long. Setae bent, 5–8 mm long, rarely to 15 mm long; capsules shortly ovoid, 0.7–0.8 mm × 0.4–0.5 mm, pendulous; opercula conic, shortly rostrate; annuli not seen; peristome double, hypnoid, with 1 cilium. Calyptrae not seen. Spores 9–13 µm in diameter, roughened.
