Plants rather large or robust, green or yellowish green, glossy, in dense mats. Stems prostrate, to 10 cm long, densely pinnately branched; branches somewhat julaceous, simple, attenuate at tips. Stem leaves broadly ovate-lanceolate or triangularly lanceolate, 1.5–1.7 mm × 0.8–0.9 mm, acuminate at apex; margins entire or only minutely serrulate at apex; costae double, short or sometimes indistinct; median leaf cells linear, 60–90 µm × 6–7 µm; apical cells short; alar cells numerous, quadrate, extending close to costa at leaf base; branch leaves elliptical-lanceolate; margins serrulate. Autoicous. Setae ca. 25 mm long, reddish brown; capsules erect, ca. 2.0 mm long, symmetric, sometimes slightly inclined; opercula conic-rostrate; annuli well developed, consisting of 2–3 rows of inflated cells; exostome teeth lanceolate, smooth below, papillose above; endostome segments linear, as long as the teeth, hyaline, papillose; basal membrane low. Spores 12–16 µm in diameter, finely papillose.
