Plants medium-sized, yellowish green, in large mats. Stems prostrate, to ca. 4 cm long, irregularly pinnately branched, densely foliate; branches julaceous, somewhat curved, attenuate at tips. Stem leaves densely imbricate, multi-plicate, broadly ovate-lanceolate, 1.9–2.2 mm × ca. 0.8 mm, concave, slenderly acuminate at apex, broad at insertion, somewhat decurrent at base; margins incurved, entire; costae stout at base, slender above, ending in leaf apex, projecting at tips; median leaf cells linear-rhomboidal, 55–85 µm × 6–8 µm; alar cells often more or less differentiated, shortly rectangular; branch leaves narrowly ovate-lanceolate, 1.1–1.6 mm × 0.3–0.4 mm. Autoicous, with multiple sporophytes per perichaetium. Perichaetial leaves sheathing at base, slenderly acuminate. Setae ca. 20 mm long, purple, twisted, papillose; capsules slightly inclined, necks shortly developed; opercula long-rostrate, slightly oblique; annuli well developed; peristome double; exostome teeth reddish, lanceolate, papillose above, cross-striolate below, trabeculate on ventral surface; endostome segments linear, as long as teeth, keeled, perforate; basal membrane high; cilia 2, well developed, nodulose. Spores not seen.
