Plants small to tiny, yellowish green, gregarious or in loose tufts. Stems simple, short, slender, 2.5–5.0 mm long. Leaves crowded at stem tips, rosulate, oblong-obovate to obovate, 1.2–3.0 mm × 0.5–1.0 mm, rather abruptly acute at apex, sometimes piliferous; margins entire below, denticulate above; costa often percurrent, sometimes ending just a few cells below leaf apex; leaf cells lax, thin-walled, upper cells oblong-hexagonal to irregularly short-rectangular, 30–45 µm × 20–27 µm; basal cells longer, 45–65 µm × 35–45 µm. Autoicous. Setae reddish brown, 0.8–1.5 cm long; capsules strongly inclined to horizontal, pyriform, asymmetric, 1.2–2.0 mm × 1.0–1.2 mm, apophyses distinctly developed, mouth wide; opercula flat-conic, slightly convex; annuli none; peristome double; exostome teeth lanceolate, reddish brown, strongly trabeculate; endostome segments ca. 1/2–3/4 the length of the teeth. Calyptrae inflated-cucullate, long-rostrate. Spores spherical, 20–30 µm in diameter.
