Plants rather large, yellowish green, in large, dense mats. Stems prostrate, irregularly pinnately branched, often with slender, elongate branches, 5–7 cm long, sometimes with branchlets, ca. 7–10 mm long, attenuate at tips. Stem and branch leaves similar, dense, erect-spreading, narrowly ovate-lanceolate, 1.67–1.81 mm × 0.45–0.59 mm, multi-plicate, gradually acuminate, sometimes cordate, often truncate at leaf base; margins serrate; costae slender, nearly percurrent; median leaf cells linear, 50–75 µm × 3.5–4.0 µm; alar cells in a small group, not extending close to costa at leaf base, quadrate to hexagonal. Sporophytes not seen.
