Plants slender, green to yellowish green, brownish at base, forming loosely interwoven small patches. Stems creeping, 1–2 cm long, irregularly pinnately branched; branches 3–4 mm long; central strand present; paraphyllia absent. Stem leaves and branch leaves not clearly differentiated; leaves crowded at stem tips, appressed when dry, erect-spreading when moist, lanceolate to oblong-ovate, acuminate above, ca. 0.6 mm long; leaf margins serrate; costa narrow, nearly excurrent, smooth; leaf cells oblong-rhomboidal to rhomboidal, ca. 12.0 µm × 5.0 µm, thin-walled, with single centrally located rounded papilla. Dioicous. Perichaetial leaves ovate-lanceolate, costa inconspicuous, yellowish brown above, reddish brown below. Peristome teeth not observed. Spores ca. 10–15 µm in diameter, finely papillose.
