general taxon notes:
This species is very close to Cyathophorella hookeriana, but the leaf apices of C. burkillii are denticulate. Gangulee (1977) suggested that C. burkillii be treated as a variety of C. hookeriana (Griff.) Fleisch. X.-Y. Hu (1991) first reported C. burkillii from Mt. Jinfu, Chongqing City.
